Ballroom & Latin
The splendour, the glitter and the glamour of Ballroom and Latin dancing (as seen on BBC's "Strictly Come Dancing") has never been easier to master! Our team of experienced instructors will guide you through the basic steps of the Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot, Quickstep, Cha Cha, Samba, Rumba and Jive! Ballroom and Latin can be enjoyed in both formal and informal settings, at parties and dinner dances. Though it may seem a style suited to adults, it is increasingly popular with children as we offer the opportunity to compete and represent the City-Limits School. Let us revive the most elegant of social pastimes and get the whole of Sheffield Ballroom dancing. Whether you have to left-feet or a budding Fred Astaire, we’ll have you waltzing up a storm in no time. You never know, you might spot Darren &Lilia!

Salsa/Latin
Let the intoxicating beat of Cuban, Brazilian and Caribbean music blow you away! We teach the basics of New York Salsa, Merengue and Bachata. You will quickly progress from simple steps to some more advanced variations,allowing you to let go and have fun in a salsa club or at social. There is a huge Salsa scene in Sheffield, and we often attend as a group,to the weekly Salsa nights in town. There's no feeling like it; being able to forget about steps and just dance.

Street Dance 
Street dance started appearing in clubs in the USA in the late 1970s. With the help from films such as "Step Up" and groups such as”Diversity”, Street dance has grown in popularity, causing a great demand in dance schools across the UK. Dance to the latest chart music and learn the basics of street and hip-hop in our beginners’ classes – whilst trying the more complicated moves as you progress with your class! It is never too late to start Street Dance we offer classes for tiny tots through to adults, there’s even the opportunity for our kids to join a Crew and perform/compete representing City-Limits.

Modern Jive
Modern jive is a dance style derived from Swing, Lindy Hop, Rock & Roll and Salsa. It is a partner dance, which is quite easy to learn as there is no footwork involved. You can dance it to a huge variety of music, from the latest hits, pop, rock, and latin or even slow it down to blues. So, if you are at a club or party, you could dance all night! It is lots of fun and an enjoyable way to keep fit. Modern jive moves can be done within a small radius so you will be able to practice at home making the learning process much quicker.

Swing

Swing dancing takes a little practice but once you learn the steps you won't want to stop! Swing can be danced to a slow or a faster beat. You will be taught a set pattern of moves, which you can add your own character to. As you progress you can add lifts and spins. Lifts are optional but good fun.

Argentine Tango
Learn the mysterious grace and passion of this classy dance form. From its humble origins in cafes and sleazy bars of Buenos Aires in the 1860s, the Argentine Tango has travelled a long way into the ballrooms and the world stage of today. In class, you will be learning the basic principles of tango, such as the embrace, correct walking action, creating spatial pathways and correct leads, and also many clever and intricate set elements that Argentine Tango is so famous for. 

Keep Fit
Want to lose a few pounds?  Want to look great in that party dress?  Then our Keep Fit class is for you! Join Judith in the best Keep Fit class in Sheffield, on TUESDAYS AT 6.30 7.30PM. Work out to the hottest music tracks around, in a friendly and enthusiastic atmosphere. This is a drop-in class so new members are always welcome, have fun and keep fit at the same time.

Freestyle
Freestyle is a hugely popular form of dance, comprised of runs, spins, kicks and leaps as well as many other movements with lots of different arm and hand actions. Not only is it fantastic exercise, its high energy and fast music allow children and teens to use freedom of expression to enhance their style.

Rock 'n' Roll 
In class we cover the authentic 50s style of Rock’n'Roll, a modern adaptation with flashy kicks, and the acrobatic moves that make Rock’n'Roll so popular and impressive. Great music, great enthusiasm a real feel-good dance.

Ballet
Don’t worry; if you weren’t the tiny tot in a tutu who took Ballet classes from aged three, it’s never too late to fall in love with this elegant style of dance. Lots of people attend ballet classes for the sheer pleasure of the dance, and not in order to become a professional. Our classes are for all ages and are beneficial for posture, flexibility and mobility. They can also be a solid foundation when learning other styles of dance. 

Tap
Tap is for people who like to make music with their feet. In this class, you will learn the basics of how rhythm is created through transference of weight and the action of body-leg-foot. You will learn basic tap steps and ways of combining them into spectacular powerful sequences, as well as the basics of improvisation. Anyone at any age can have a go, and in a very short space of time you can gain a real sense of accomplishment. Please remember to bring your tap shoes with you - the louder you sound the better!

Zumba
Zumba classes are not like your normal, everyday aerobic class. There will hardly be any verbal cueing and Zumba uses "tracked music" and not continuous music. The instructor will lead the class in easy, simple movements with a combination of dance and fitness moves. Usually visual and hand cues are given. The music is fun and invigorating and is mostly Latin with some up to date tracks thrown in for fun. Different Latin dance styles will be used, as well as fitness moves, such as bicep curls,lunges, and other body-toning moves. There will be a lot of hip and booty shaking too! The structure of the class starts with a warm-up and proceeds to intervals of faster and slower tempos throughout the duration of the class. Zumba® Fitness has become one of the fastest-growing, dance-based fitness crazes in the world, with people of all ages falling in love with its infectious music, easy-to-follow dance moves, and body-beautifying benefits.
